Tschudi Mozambique was Appointed Ship Agents for a Tug and Barge

The Tschudi team in Mozambique has been appointed as ship agents by Renco S.p.A. for the RENCRAFT barge and the Seacontractors’ tug ATLANTIS. The barge was towed from Damen Shipyard in Rotterdam to Pemba Bulk Terminal. The long towage was successfully completed, and the barge was delivered to the client at the anchorage point in Pemba Bay.

??? ??????? ???? ????????:

  • A smooth port clearance process of the barge and tug with the local authorities;
  • Crew change of the tug;
  • Assistance services to the tug for the departure from Pemba for the next voyage.

Further, the Tschudi team has commenced the process with the maritime administration for the ??????????????? of the barge and her conversion into a floating jetty.

The barge will be connected to the existing PBT port to increase the jetty length of 120 meters. It will be secured on three pillars and will work as floating quay translating vertically on the legs like a Jack-up following the tides movements. After the upgrade, the port will serve the Oil&Gas projects in North of Cabo Delgado, moving aggregates, materials and equipment from Pemba to Afungi. This will strengthen the capacity of Pemba, as new hub for international shipments of cargo.

SeaWorks Transported Specially Fabricated Pilings from Dordrecht, NL to Denmark

SeaWorks Transported Specially Fabricated Pilings from Dordrecht, NL to Denmark

The specially fabricated pilings will be used for building and construction. The 380 pipes, with socalled locking-plates welded to it, were loaded and stowed in a specially contracted shallow water coaster.

Due to the welded plates, the stowage was a bit different than usual with bare pipes and since pipes had to be loaded ‘diagonally’. An advantage of the welded plates is that the cargo could not roll.

The stowage was well performed by the stevedoring terminal and ship and cargo safely reached the discharge port where the cargo was swiftly discharged.

ITM Projects Transported 3 Rotor Spiders from Central Mexico to Washington State USA

The cargo was shipped via Manzanillo Port to Grays Harbor Port with final destination at the remote location of Rock Island Dam in Wenatchee, WA, USA.

Cargo particulars:
6.13 x 6.13 x 1.25 meters
21 metric tons each

The challenge here was the severe winter weather and of course the width of the cargo. Local police provided assistance with 2 snow plows to clear the roads for a safe transit.
